I'm glad to read your entries of merry holidays and relaxing time off. I hope whether you are observing Christmas in your traditional manner or making the best of this holiday lull, you and yours are well.

Our early morning was interrupted by the rush of jingle bells as Mr M and Greycie Loo charged over and under the bed. Then when I went out to put the kettle on, I saw Greycie had knocked the basket of cat toys over and was rolling around with a catnip pillow, illuminated by a string of snowflake lights.

I'm off to the Meetinghouse shortly, to visit with and make breakfast for the folks sleeping there.

The xootr ride yesterday did take something out of me. I had a long soak with a speculative fiction book, Dust by Elizabeth Bear, then watched a Torchwood episode.

At that point it was time to visit with family via Skype. That turned out well for me, but my sister's family didn't connect with my brother's. It was rather cool to experience Christmas morning, post stockings with the Beijing family, then visit with my sister's family in Billings, Mo, just back from church, just before a Christmas Eve visit from Santa. Santa tracking at NORAD took on a new relevance for me.
