The privacy folks found that Yahoo ads are tracking folks who visit my Grey Cat blog. Yup, probably five or six years ago i probably put some tracking code on there. I'll root it out.

Itching continues. I slept quite late this morning. Christine went out with a friend to her checkup yesterday while i was on one of many conference calls: that seems to have wiped her out. I feel conflicted about not feeling well, as if it were something i had a choice about. The weeping welts on my fingers and the rashes everywhere are at least evidence that it's not "just in my mind" (except, except, and insert the nasty cycles about the power of the mind and stress and so on here).

We watched the pilot for Twin Peaks last night. I wonder about the wardrobe for the teens and it reminds me of the wardrobes in Buffy: not exactly what people were wearing at the time, but some cross of contemporary and other periods that pull a sense of timelessness to the wardrobe. Are there any Buffy-Twin Peaks scholarly articles about the clothes? In watching early episodes of Highlander the dated wardrobes really stand out.

In technology issues i picked up my replacement EVO. It wasn't until i was until the dim light before bedtime that i realized that the "menu" button doesn't light up. Is it worth going back and exchanging again? It's not just the two trips to the Sprint store, but the likely $35 charge plus triggering my annoyance that the phone has been waiting for me since 31 March and no one contacted me.

So, i'm restoring all the applications i use. Before i gave up my phone i used Astro File Manager to back up all the apps i use regularly. It appears i could use that to uninstall the Sprint TV app: very tempting as it crashes often and i never use it. It was a breeze to restore the applications to the new to me phone, but the applications are now "decoupled" from the Google App store. I believe this means that i won't get alerts about updating them. I've mixed feelings about this. On one hand: YAY -- there are games i downloaded that started demanding new permissions so i never upgraded them. Now i'll not be nagged about upgrading.

But upgrades are generally Good Things.

The Amazon App Store remembers the apps i picked out through it. Google's doesn't. I had already begun to choose Amazon's over Google's because my deep purchasing history through Amazon means it just works, while i have rarely used Google checkout. This simple but critical distinction though -- knowing what i have downloaded as well as purchased -- makes setting up a new phone easier. I'm not sure why Google has missed this functionality.
