It's worth giving it a try but it is a different flower. It's an annual from California. I've seen nit for sale at the feed and seed as a cover crop. The one time i tried none took in my sowing. (I expect a cover crop not to need a nice fluffy seed bed. Fie.)

The other is locally native, is a biennial, and "reseeds easily". That sound like it's sort of easy to get a colony going.
