Frivolous analysis for the day: i have a pair of "Wichita" Lizflex by Liz Claiborne leather shoes from pre 2000. They're well made leather slip on loafers with a low heel. Not the substantial arch support i am used to but walking around today in them, they seem like i could wear them on a work trip. In pale pink and thus looking a little dingy.
I could polish them up with "Tarrago Shoe Cream - Professional Shoe Polish with Carnauba wax to Re-Color and Polish" in rose #24 for ~$10. I don't really need pale pink shoes.
I could really use a pair of navy shoes. On the other hand, i need ankle support and i've been wearing ankle boots for a while. I've three pairs of ankle boots for wearing on business trips, two which are suede in odd (for my wardrobe) colors. (They are also far from dressy, but they worked.)
Weaver Leather Wool Daubers, One Size, Natural(Pack of 12) $3.50
Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer 5 Oz $8.99
Angelus Leather Dye 3oz, Navy Blue $11.78
It looks like one should NOT use leather dye on suede, but suede dye. Ah, ha: "Many colors of suede will work well on smooth leathers but NOT the reverse. "
So, if i bought navy suede dye, i could dye the loafers AND one of the suede boots.
Part of me wants to do "fun colors" but most of those require paints. But i could doodle on the shoes?
I have Golden Acrylics from pre-North Carolina.

Angelus Refillable Paint Marker $9.47 << NIFTY!
Angelus Pearlescent Leather Paint 1oz 7 Color Set $23, 4 oz set is $38
Angelus has "Prince Purple" (Pearlescent), Paradise Purple (Neon, more magenta), Violet, Grape 5, purple (very dark), lilac
Also this exists Wilkins Premium Midsole Marker for Customization Paint on Leather, Suede, Fabric and Soft Foam
OK, the more i think about it, i think i will polish up the pink shoes in the short term, refurbish the funny pale grey green pair of suede boots to navy. Then, someday, get the kit of pearlescent leather paints and start painting up some shoes and bags. But, i actually have pink tops to wear with grey slacks, and the pink shoes will be OK for that.

I wish I had some artistic talent to do things like paint shoes - my youngest is ridiculously talented and did a pair of Vans with an Egyptian motif that was amazing
