My regrets for not making clear the PayPal notice was for US residents in the 47 states that don't have decent privacy laws. And it's probably a specific type of account -- reading the privacy policy in detail is no fun.

I didn't go out to enjoy the lovely weather for some reason over the weekend, which, in retrospect, might have been the onset of an sinus infection. I've missed some work including all day Tuesday. I am thankful for access to telehealth and being able to get an appointment at a convenient time. I hate missing work for sickness and getting further out of sync with things, particularly when i want to also be taking time off to work outside.

Christine's brother in law has open heart surgery tomorrow. "They will cut through his sternum to implant the device (open heart surgery), which is run forever more on 4-5 pound batteries that he will wear outside his body by way of high fashion accessories." (Christine clarifies it will be two batteries that are drained in parallel for a total of eight to ten pounds worn.)

I'm also holding friends and family in the path of Milton in my heart. I'm glad not to have my grandmother's safety as a weight.

I've been working hard to avoid re-opening a PayPal account for a few years, but the main postcard sales site I find postcards at hasn't fixed its pay-without-account option, though they seem to think they have. It's just always set that you (or at least I) (in different browsers and with cache/etc. cleared) can't proceed past a certain point without opening an account. They really must've pissed me off at PayPal a few years ago for me to have such lingering resentment and refusenikery. :) But you make me glad of it with your latest.

So many tech solutions just seems to be getting more ridiculously worse. I admire people like you who can keep refusenik lines.

whoa on the battery stuff - that sounds scary and I hope it goes well with a speedy and uneventful recovery

still waiting to actually hear from Foo here about Milton - last I heard there was a tornado 1/4 mile from her home in Port St Lucie (the first one of the day) and she had to get off the phone. Her daughters said she was OK, I'd like to hear it from her too ya know?

Yeah, it's scary but better than the alternative.

I'm feeling better - tolerating sudafed much better than my dim memories (when i was much lower mass).

Did I ever share the Russian Tea recipe with you? I need to post it again, I have some new friends on here, a FB friend reminded me the other day

Holding my thumbs for you and Christine and Christine’s brother in law and the people who were thought likely to be in Milton’s path, to those who were, and to those who evacuated!

Holding hope for all of us and our warming world, and hoping the toxins of the past that are all swirled up in this US political season can be transmuted -- my mind slides away from the war horrors in Ukraine and Palestine. May we all learn compassion.
